Ivan has been a member of the Bar Association since 1998 and has been admitted to practice before the Court of Cassation and the Higher Courts since 2010.

He began collaborating with Lessona Law Firm in 1994 as a trainee and subsequently became a partner in 2003.

He has extensive experience and expertise in the fields of public procurement and public concessions, both during the award phase and during execution and claims management, as well as in public utilities, pharmaceutical and healthcare law, commercial regulation, and airport regulation. In these areas, he has represented clients in more than seven hundred cases before the Regional Administrative Courts and the Council of State.

These areas of expertise are complemented by his experience in civil and contractual law in matters directly or indirectly connected with administrative law.

In these fields, in addition to litigation, he provides consultancy services, assisting clients in decision-making processes and in drafting all documents and contracts necessary for their activities.

He has served on numerous occasions as a member or consultant of tender evaluation committees in public procurement procedures.

His clients include numerous public bodies, major private and publicly-owned companies (including listed companies), as well as small businesses.

A lecturer at the School of Specialization in Legal Professions of the University of Florence, he collaborates with the university’s Chair of Administrative Law and has carried out extensive teaching and training assignments for various public and private entities, included Florence, Milan and Ferrara Universities. He is the author of many publications in administrative law, a member of the scientific editorial board of “L’amministrativista – Il portale sugli appalti e i contratti pubblici,” and a member of the Observatory on EU and National Public Procurement Law at the University of Trento.

He is among the co-authors of the Commentary on the Public Contracts Code published by Giappichelli in 2019.

He is a member of the Tuscan Society of Administrative Lawyers.
